To configure mail:
  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

  1. Click Add.
  2. Click the Mail tab. If this is your first time, then follow the instructions in the Internet Connection Wizard to establish a connection with a mail or news server. If you are adding, deleting, or changing your connection click here.
  3. Fill in your name & e-mail address. Click Next.

  1. Fill in My incoming server is a POP 3 Server. The incoming & outgoing mail server should be set for bdol.com. Click Next.
  2. Fill in your user id & password. Click Next.
  3. Give a name to your Big Dog Online Mail account. Click Next.
  4. Select Connect using my phone line. Click Next.
  5. Click Finish.

To edit your connection:

  1. Click on the account you wish to edit.
  2. Then click properties.

  3. At the General tab, fill in your UserID and Email address. See below

  4. Next goto the server tab and fill in your server and logon setting. See below

  5. Finally click on the connection tab. NOTE: you must use the BDT Dialer option under use the following Dial-Up networking connection. See Below

  6. If you have more than one account, highlight the BDT account you just set up. Then choose set as default to make this your default mail account.

    To configure news:

    1. Open Outlook Express

    2. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

    3. Click Add.

    4. Click either the News tab, and then follow the instructions in the Internet Connection Wizard to establish a connection with a mail or news server.

    Using Connection Wizard to add news:

    display name name next

    email address person@bdol.com next

    NNTP news server news1.server.wcom.com next

    connect using phone line next

    dial up connection using existing dial up connection (BDT Dialer) next

     

     

    To change an existing mail or news server

    1. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
    2. On either the Mail or News tab, click a server, and then click Properties.
    3. Change the server information as needed on the appropriate tabs.

    Suggestion

     If you have difficulty connecting to the server, click the Advanced tab, and try increasing the Server Timeouts setting.
